Day 6: The chance to put your feet up

Summer has arrived here in Doue la Fontaine, the finishing town of the 6th stage. With it being a relatively short and hilly in the mid section and with my legs not feeling too bad, I started running straight from the off with the thought of maybe a whole afternoon free to do washing, eat, shower, etc., if I pulled my finger out and got a bit more of a move on early doors.
Running over the Loire, past chateaux and beautiful houses with the hillsides littered with vineyards I continued to pick up speed, now confident it would be ice cream time early afternoon and hitting the last 12km, a flattish main road run into the finish, with the midday sun getting to its peak it wasn’t time to hang around.The great atmosphere of a market square to finish in and a cold beer at the finish line.

Massage later with Christine’s understudy, Pannos the Greek. Turns out he is a national record holder and Olympic medallist at Barcelona in weightlifting, hope he doesnt snap me in half!
