Day 8: “Storm chasing”

- on FFP’s advice the handbrake was firmly off today (note from FFP: in the hope that less time on the feet would reduce swelling and more usual running speed would be more efficient).
A fabulous sunrise and a perfect temperature made keeping a good rhythm pretty easy until the halfway point when the humidity began to rìse.
Ahead the medieval village of Angles sur l’Anglin in sunshine, behind “the roof closed over” with a big electrical storm. It caught me in the last 10km and I had an exhilarating run into the finish with lightning forks hitting surrounding fields.
Best performance of the race yet.
